If there is a boarding school which has an altruistic mission, it must be Horizon Academy. Their vision is to create a community of life long learners. They want to provide a caring and respectful environment for children struggling, because of learning disabilities. In Horizon Academy, they will be given the opportunity to explore their full potential. Students are trained to become life long learners: productive and responsible citizens.
Students with learning problems and potentially average, average, and above average IQs will be considered for placement. Screenings for placement are at no cost at all. Interested parents should send a current psychological report plus a current individual education plan (if the child has one) and any other pertinent information. Once the staff reviews the records, a screening time will be arranged, if appropriate.
Tuition fees varies and it is best to contact the school or boarding school agency for the accurate rates. With regard to scholarships, they are awarded annually on basis of need. Application for scholarship may be submitted after acceptance in the beginning of spring for the following academic year.
